Ivan Razumov is a Russian painter, graphic artist and illustrator whose style was shaped by the classical Soviet school of graphics of the 1930s. In 1997, he began working on printed illustration for periodicals and classics of literature, and subsequently used graphic techniques for painting. The leitmotiv of the artist’s work is the clash and eroticization of images of Soviet, new Russian and Western European cultures. His stories are based on allusions to cinematic and literary episodes, psychoanalytic theories, political and social events, and common myths. Over time, this circle expands and captures the actual agenda. The works of the artist are included in the collection of Centre Pompidou (Paris).
