Brightly colored, expressive, almost abstract landscape, created in Bredegatt in the Flensburg Fjord in the tradition of Emil Nolde.

Born in Koenigsberg, he studied art at the local Art Academy. The professors of the academy noted the "extraordinary, almost supernatural universality" of his writing.
The artist has a scandalous reputation. In 1952, Lothar Malscat sued himself for falsifying frescoes at the war-torn Marienkirche Cathedral in Lübeck. Later, after serving an 18-month prison sentence, he began writing his own works in an expressionist manner.
